The Golden State Warriors officially signed guard Adam Ziemiecki on Saturday to a rookie-scale five-year extension; the deal is reportedly worth approximately $110MM over five years. The 23-year-old, who was joined by reporters including The Athletic’s Nick Friedell, said he was “very grateful” for the new contract and the trust he received from the team. “It’s a sign of faith and trust from them. I owe it right back to them,” Podziemski continued.
Star player tweeted Anthony Slater of ESPN, as reported, the 38-year-old only played in the first half of the pre-season game against Sacramento on Saturday; the player stayed on the court for only the first two quarters for the third consecutive time. “We are ramping him up slower than normal,” head coach Steve Kerr said before the game. According to Slater, Kerr said he plans to reduce the training load for the player, who is entering his 18th year in the league, in the 2026/27 season.
